Things to keep in mind
- This gif is only 300px in width. For photosets, the width will differ depending on how many gifs you include and such. If you post a single gif, try to make it 500px in width. This is to fill the entire space you get in a normal tumblr post.
- Since tumblr only allows gifs under the 500k limit, it makes it harder to keep the quality in our gifs. Some of the filters you might want to check out are:
Blur > Gaussian Blur | Use this on the backgrounds of your screencaps. Where it’s the most grainy. Try not to use this on a face, or the focus of your gif.
Noise > Reduce Noise | This can give your gif/graphic a painted effect, but it also helps with the grainy screencaps. Try it out and experiment with the settings!
Sharpen | There’s not a lot to explain. Try and sharpen your gif before you resize it, that way it won’t end up looking harsh. Don’t be afraid to use the filter twice.- When you’re saving your gif (File > Save for Web & Devices) a window will pop up. If you look on the right side, there is a bunch of settings you can change. Try changing the Colors and Dither. This will lower the size of your gif.

If you liked this tutorial and intend to try it, please like or reblog this post. I spent a lot of time on preparing this tutorial, so feedback would be appreciated!
This is a Photoshop tutorial for cutting people out of a background when they have messy hair, so you can keep all of the stray locks/strands and avoid a blocky, unrealistic look without having to manually trace around them yourself.
This tutorial works for both single- and multi-colored backgrounds.
As always, any comments/criticisms on the tutorial are welcome. And please, if you found this helpful, likes and reblogs are much appreciated!
Hey guys did you know
If you go to any tag on any blog and add /chrono to the end of the URL, it displays from first post to last, rather than showing the most recent first.
